A Garden Tour

Here is a little peek at how the garden is growing.  I have to say that so far it looks pretty good, and I am loving having fresh, healthy vegetables and fruit in my own backyard.

I am very excited about my heriloom tomato varieties this year!  This one is a Black Krim Tomato.

Yellow Wax Beans are coming!

Thus far my potatoes are disease free.  I have them hilled with straw which seems to be going better than last year.

Last year I grew cucumbers up a teepee, but this year I am trying growing them up ropes on one of my tomato gallows.  I have Japanese Long, Poona Kheera, and Fine De Meaux growing.

The Grey Zucchini have arrived, and we ate our first one this week.  I have to pull out my zucchini recipes because soon I will be eating them prepared as many ways as possible.

Purple Podded Pole Beans are climbing happily toward the sky.

This is the first year that my raspberry canes have produced fruit, and the berries are coming like crazy.  They are super delicious and are perfect on top of a bowl of granola.

I have two apple trees and while one didn’t flower at all, this Centennial Crab has tons of little apples growing.

Earlier this spring I talked about my onion experiment.  I started them from seed for the first time, and I am happy to report that they transplanted into the garden beautifully and right now look even better than my onions I started from sets last year.

How is your garden growing?
