Man Shorts

My sewing machine has been working overtime the past couple of weeks.  Now that the weather is cooler it is a little more pleasant to be in my upstairs sewing room since it gets a little toasty up there in the summer heat.  Hubby’s birthday was last week and I wanted to make him something simple and useful.  My man loves his plaid jammie shorts that he has had since we got married 4 years ago.  He wears them many nights a week to bed and as you can see, they have about had it.

The bum area has gotten thinner and thinner, and he has finally wore a hole through them.  He needed a new pair so I found some soft plaid flannel shirting at Joann, pulled out my trusty pajama pants pattern (Simplicity 2481) and converted it to a shorts pattern. I used the old shorts as a guide for length.

I cut, sewed, and Voila! Man shorts!  Start to finish it was about an hour project.  Hubby was happy and I was quite pleased with how they turned out.

Have you made anything for your man lately?
