I got my seeds started a couple weeks ago, and they have all come up. I love watching the little plants poke their way out of the soil and into the world. Visions of delicious cabbage, red, purple, green, and yellow tomatoes, and fiery hot peppers are dancing in my head. I can almost taste the freshness of Genovese basil and am looking forward to the crunch of yellow bell peppers. Since I am growing all heirloom plants this year, I am excited about all the new varieties that I planted and am interested to see which ones perform the best.
Want a more in-depth look at what I am growing? I am participating in Grow It Forward: Heirloom Seed Contest Garden, which is a really neat site where I share what I am growing, how it is growing, and get to interact with other heirloom seed growers and learn new tips and tricks. Check it out!
What are you growing in your garden this year?

How exciting! I’ll be getting my veggies in the ground in a couple weeks. I’ll be planting cucumbers, green pell peppers, carrots, bib lettuce, watermelon, and a couple others.
Thanks for linking up to Friday’s Photo blog hop. Please be sure to put a link back to the hop.

I love the excitement of new little seedlings! I’ve been trying to go all heirloom also; I think I’m almost there. I counted the other day and I had about 133 varieties of seeds… I need to plant more and buy less. They’re just so fun to buy and dream over though!

So exciting! I tried to get some seeds from the contest but didn’t get them this time, but I had already ordered some anyway, so it’s fine. I have 5 different heirloom varieties of tomatoes growing, herbs, and some kale that have come up right now. What I always find amazing is how you can tell fairly quickly which plant is which when their true leaves have sprouted – kind of like plant toddlers. Here’s a link to what I’m growing if you ever want to check it out:
